HCA Midwest Health System, Kansas City’s largest healthcare network, has appointed David Williams as chief executive officer of Centerpoint Medical Center.
Williams will assume responsibility of this acute-care hospital with nearly 500 physicians and 1,300 employees on November 26, 2012. Williams has served in leadership roles in five HCA facilities within the past 24 years. Since 2008, Dave has served as the CEO of Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, La. While leading Rapides, the medical center experienced growth despite significant competition in the market and a shift in payor mix. During his tenure between 2008 and 2011, the medical center initiated an intense physician recruitment/employment strategy, developed the area’s first Surgicalist program and achieved Level II Trauma Center certification. Williams also oversaw the development and implementation of cultural initiatives and customer service programming that resulted in a significant increase in staff engagement scores year-over-year. Prior to serving as Rapides Regional Medical Center’s CEO, Williams served as CEO of HCA’s Henrico Doctors’ Hospital in Richmond, Va.
“Dave’s experience and leadership skills will be a tremendous asset for Centerpoint Medical Center,” says M. L. Lagarde, President, HCA Midwest Health System. “He has demonstrated ability in operations resulting in growth and expansion and proven success in measurable performance improvement and employee engagement. We are thrilled to have him lead one of our busiest and strategically important hospitals.”
Williams said he is looking forward to the opportunity to lead Centerpoint Medical Center. “Centerpoint is an exemplary hospital and I’m looking forward to contributing to its mission of providing high quality, compassionate care for the eastern Jackson County community,” he said.
