HCA Midwest Health System announces that Centerpoint Medical Center, Independence, Mo., will begin work on a $5.2 million expansion of its Surgery Department.
The project will equip one of the hospital’s existing operating rooms as an endovascular suite. In addition, two new operating rooms, shelled out in the original hospital construction, will be completed and equipped. The completion of this project will extend Centerpoint’s surgical operating capacity from eight to 10 rooms.
“This project comes on the heels of our recent $3.6 million magnetic resonance imaging addition and continues to illustrate our commitment to the health of our community in eastern Jackson County, as well as our commitment to the medical staff and employees here at Centerpoint,” said Carolyn Caldwell, FACHE, CEO, Centerpoint Medical Center.
“We have continued to experience rapid growth in our surgical specialties and we feel this addition will make Centerpoint Medical Center an even better place for patients to receive care and for physicians to practice medicine,” she said.
